Mangal Pandey was a freedom fighter and Indian soldier, he played the main role in the revolt of 1857.
He was a soldier in the 34th BNI (Bengal Native Infantry), a regiment of the British East India Company.
Mangal Pandey was born on 19 July 1827 in Nagwa village of Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh.
