Mike White’s father’s name is James Melville “Mel” White and mother’s name is Lyla Lee who was a fundraising executive.And his father was a former speechwriter, a ghostwriter for religious right figures such as Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson and later in 1994 his father came out as gay.
Mike White won numerous awards, including the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award for the 2000 film Chuck & Buck from which he began writing.In 2003, he wrote screen plays for films such as School of Rock and also directed several films that he wrote, such as the 2017 film Brad’s Status.He was the co-creator, executive producer, writer, director and actor of HBO series Enlightened.

- Mike White was a writer as well as a producer, he wrote on Dawson’s Creek and Freaks and Geeks and acted in the films Chuck & Buck, The Good Girl, Orange County, School of Rockand Nacho Libre. In addition, White also starred in The Stepford Wives in 2004 and the 2008 film Smother. In 2000, the Chuck & Buck film was named Best Film by Entertainment Weekly in which white portrays a child who follows his childhood friend. In an interview of The New York Times, Jeff Bridges said that Chuck & Buck’s film was performed by which the Performance of the decade.
